For the fourth consecutive year, Chartered Accountants’ Hall welcomed a delegation of more than 100 MBA students from the Fordham Gabelli School of Business in New York City for a day of insight, inspiration, and interactive learning.

The visit began with a warm welcome from Sarah Prescott, Senior Manager, International Relationships and part of ICAEW’s International Team, who shared the value of the Chartered Accountancy qualification and ICAEW’s growing presence in the United States, including vibrant member community there.

The focus then turned to sustainability, with engaging talks from Sarah Reay, ICAEW’s Climate Change Manager, and Richard Spencer, ICAEW’s Director of Sustainability. Together, they explored the profession’s pivotal role in addressing climate challenges and embedding environmental, social, and governance principles into business strategy.

In the inspiring surroundings of the Great Hall, students took part in a hands-on workshop, applying the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to real-world scenarios. Working in groups, they selected a business or university and developed strategies to integrate the goals into operations, governance, and impact.

The event closed with remarks from ICAEW CEO Alan Vallance, who reflected on the importance of ethical leadership, professional responsibility, and the unique contribution Chartered Accountants can make in building a sustainable future.
This annual exchange continues to strengthen global connections, foster cross-border collaboration, and inspire the next generation of business leaders to take purposeful action.
