The Assistant Controller will be a tactical, self-motivated leader who is detail oriented, analytical, organized and can visualize “the big picture”. The Assistant Controller must be able to think outside of the box to create new efficiencies, empower the staff, implement productive and time effective department changes and bring global accounting projects to closure on a timely basis. The Assistant Controller will report directly to the Controller and must be able to interact effectively with various internal clients.
As an Assistant Controller, you will:
Manage a team of finance professionals, providing necessary training and guidance, balancing workloads, and evaluating performance
Provide overall leadership of accounting operations
Manage the treasury & cash requirements, including the relationships with financial institutions
Oversee the payroll function, primarily focused on the US and Canada, but with oversight of Global processes and the integration with HR & all payroll related items
Maintain ownership of benefit accounting and related reporting requirements
Collaborate with various business partners and participate in FP&A activities, promoting a culture of cooperation
Point of contact for external auditors to provide information needed for the financial audits
Coordinate and collaborate closely with leasing company to manage Firm’s global lease contracts
Prepare and monitor cash flow forecasts
Support the Firm’s Controller on various priorities and initiatives
Let’s talk if you have the following:
Relevant accounting qualification CPA required (ACA, ACCA and CA considered)
5+ years in a senior finance role, managing others
Demonstrated leadership capabilities based on extensive experience in leading and managing accounting functions
Experience leading a diverse and dynamic team supporting positive, efficient, and effective operations
Experience managing a significant payroll function, including tax compliance
Experience managing benefit accounting and 401(k)/ERISA requirements
Experienced in driving significant process improvements across finance and accounting
Excellent communication skills
