Beyond Accounting: AI & Accountants 2026

This event is a 90-minute webinar, with polling questions / audience CPE. (up to 1.8 CPE credits available). This webinar follows on from last year’s look Double header AI & Accountants 2025. A year ater, we continue that discussion with our focus on accountants and the future of our profession – what is changing and what we need to prepare for in embracing the opportunities that impact how we work. We will discuss specific concerns for accountants and give relatable examples.

We start with 3 short presentations followed by a panel discussion. It with Campbell Roberston, based in Ottawa. Jannie Wentzel will then give a short presentation of AI solutions he is working on and implementing. Chris Easton will then follow with additional insights and examples. We will then be joined by our moderator, Nancy Chakabuda, who will then moderate a discussion with our presenters and ask questions including some logged by attendees.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES: By the end of the session, attendees will have achieved the following objectives:

  1. Get perspectives on the current state of AI from our 3 presenters
  2. Understand real world examples of how AI is being used
  3. Understand the potential opportunities and challenges for Accountants
  4. Understand the key changes since our presentations in 2025
  5. Hear from our panelists how AI is changing their way of working and what they see impacting businesses

Campbell Roberston

Campbell Roberston, Founder – Boxwood Strategy Group

Campbell’s focus is AI Success Management and as founder of Boxwood Strategy Group he has been focused on this since leaving IBM in March 2025. At IBM he was a Global Data and AI Practice leader based in Ottawa and was with IBM for over 18 years. He has a BA from the University of Ottawa and studied AI: Implications for Business Strategy at MIT Sloan.
