Technical Accounting Manager

We are assisting a client in their search for a Manager of Technical Accounting.

This position can be based anywhere in the USA.

Manager Technical Accounting & External Reporting – REMOTE Anywhere in USA
Responsibilities:

Assist with management of Technical Accounting and External Reporting

Research relevant accounting guidance and recommend accounting and disclosure requirements for complex non-routine transactions, including but not limited to the areas of business combinations, revenue, divestitures, investments, leases, and equity accounting

Lead implementation of the new hedging program

Review stock-based compensation expense and share count calculations, as well as the related forecasts

Process stock-based compensation journal entries

Draft and maintain technical accounting memorandums

Document new accounting policies, and updates to existing policies

Perform quarterly review of goodwill and intangible impairment including the year-end test for impairment

Evaluate impairment of cost equity investments

Analyze and monitor accounting conventions to ensure the company’s non-GAAP policies would not have a significant effect on any one period on a quantitative basis

Assist the External Reporting team in the preparation and review of financial statement disclosures

Serve as a company-wide technical accounting resource for ad-hoc questions and initiatives

Desired Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Accounting or Finance

Proficient in ASC 606 and ASC 805

5+ years of professional experience, CPA and public accounting experience preferred

Comprehensive and current understanding of financial statements, U.S. GAAP, and SEC reporting rules

Ability to quickly assess the impact of transactions on the financial statements and required disclosures

Prior use of Wdesk (Workiva) preferred

Ability to manage multiple deliverables and work well under pressure

Ability to interact with other Business Units throughout the organization

Excellent oral, written, and people skills

Ability to deliver projects on schedule and flexibility to work extended hours

Experience with Oracle R12 preferred

CPA/CA or equivalent preferred
